Prof. Dr. Münevver Demir is a distinguished clinician-scientist specializing in hepatology and gastroenterology. With robust training from Mainz and Cologne and clinical leadership at Charité Berlin, she drives translational research in NAFLD/NASH, liver cancer, and microbiome interactions. Her publications in top-tier journals and roles in major clinical cohorts highlight her impact on liver disease diagnosis, progression, and treatment.
Prof. Norbert Stefan is a globally recognized clinician-scientist based at the University of Tübingen & Helmholtz Zentrum München. His major contributions lie in human metabolic phenotyping, clarifying the roles of NAFLD/MASLD, hepatokines, and refining the concepts of metabolic health. His work bridges clinical research and personalized prevention of cardiometabolic diseases.
Obtained his Medical degree from the Faculty of Medicine, Cairo University in Egypt. He pursued his postgraduate studies and activities in internal medicine in the UK, USA and Austria. Prof. Asad I. Dajani is a Consultant Gastroenterologist and Hepatologist at Asad Dajani Specialized Clinic, with affiliation to Medcare and Saudi German hospital, Sharjah, United Arab Emirates. He was instrumental in establishing the Endoscopy service at the Kuwait and Al Qassimi Hospitals in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates. Prof. Dajani has many publications in the field of his work and is also a member of the editorial board for many reputed journals of gastroenterology, and Chairman and Moderator for many of the local Emirates Medical Associations, regional and international symposia and conferences.
Obtained his medical degree from the Medical University of Silesia in Katowice, Poland, in 1986, before pursuing a specialization in internal medicine and gastroenterology. In 1989, he was the recipient of a fellowship from the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Laboratoires Fournier, which allowed him to spend two years working in the Splanchnic Haemodynamic Laboratory at Beaujon Hospital in Clichy, Paris, France. In 2005, he was appointed as the Professor of Medicine. Prof. Hartleb is an author of two-volume book entitled “Hepatology Secrets” published in 2022. Since 2021, Prof. Hartleb holds the post of President of the Polish Gastroenterology Society.
Throughout his career, Dr. Younossi has been dedicated to advancing the field of hepatology through clinical excellence, research innovation, and education, making significant contributions to the understanding and treatment of liver diseases. Chairman of the Global NASH Council authored 770 articles, significant contributions to research in liver diseases, particularly MAFLD.
President of Committee on Fatty Liver Diseases, Chinese Physicians' Association, president of Chronic disease management branch of China Pharmaceutical Biotechnology Association, and member of the editorial board of over 10 journals, i.e., Hepatology, Chin Med J (Engl)., Clin Mol Hepatol., J Clin Trans Hepatol.
Experience and Education:
Dr Asa’d Izziddin Dajani obtained his Medical degree from the Faculty of Medicine, Cairo University in Egypt. He pursued his postgraduate studies and activities in internal medicine in the UK, USA and Austria.
Dr Dajani has an experience of having worked at various hospitals in Egypt, Kuwait and Vienna, gaining wide experience in his field. In 1984, he relocated to UAE, where he was instrumental in establishing the Endoscopy service at the Kuwait Hospital in Sharjah.
Dr Dajani regularly attends local, regional as well as international conferences and shares his expertise with his peers all over. He is regularly invited as a guest lecturer to various medical conventions, institutes, and pharmaceutical sponsored meetings locally, regionally and interna- tionally. Dr Dajani has many publications to his credit in reputed local as well as international Medical journals. He has also presented to many conferences and seminars worldwide.
Jose D. Sollano, Jr., is Professor of Medicine at the University of Santo Tomas (UST) Faculty of Medicine and Surgery, Manila, the Philippines. He was also a Visiting Professor at the University of Arizona - Tucson School of Medicine.
After finishing his Gastroenterology Fellowship training at UST, he proceeded to train in Hepatology, ultrasound and interventional techniques with Prof Kunio Okuda at Chiba University, Japan and in Therapeutic Endoscopy with Prof Nib Soehendra at the University of Hamburg, Germany. He also had Visiting Fellowships in Gastroenterology at the Cleveland Clinic in Ohio and at the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota.
He has authored/co-authored 5 book chapters and several original scientific articles in peer-reviewed journals. He is also a reviewer and/or member of the Editorial Board of several international periodicals in Gastroenterology, Endoscopy and Hepatology.
He has been Faculty and/or Convenor of a number of Asian-Pacific Consensus Guidelines, including those on Chronic Hepatitis B, Chornic Hepatitis C, NAFLD, Portal Hypertension, Non Variceal Upper GI Bleeding and Inflammatory Bowel Diseases. In 1990, he founded the Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) Club of the Philippines and in 2019, he co-organized the Crohn's and Colitis Philippines (C&Cph), a national IBD Patient Support Group.
Prof. Sollano is a Past President of the Asia Pacific Association for the Study of the Liver (APASL). He is also Past President of the Hepatology Society of the Philippines, Philippine Society of Gastroenterology and Digestive Endoscopy, as well as, the Philippine College of Physicians. He is a member of the Chronic Hepatitis B Global Guidelines Task Force of the World Gastroenterology Organization (WGO), member of the APAGE Research Fund Committee and is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians.
Dr. An Wei is Chief of the Department of Cell Biology Capital Medical University, Beijing, China. He is also the Head of Beijing Key Laboratory of Liver Protection and Regeneration. He received his MD degree in 1990 and then worked as postdoc in University of Erlangen, Germany, and Institute for Biomedical Research, CSIC, Madrid Spain. In 1999 he was promoted to professor and assigned as Head of Dept. Cell Biology. The research work of Prof. An focuses on hepatic protection associated with mitochondrial mechanism, of which, he has been awarded more 10 grants from the Chinese National Natural Scientific Foundation and published 70 internationally recognized peer-reviewed papers as first/corresponding author. Prof. An serves as a former president of Chinese Society of Medical Cell Biology.
Importance of hepatic membrane protection against NAFLD/NASH

Professor Lu is Chief of the Department of Gastroenterology, Chief Physician, Doctor Tutor of Shanghai General Hospital, Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine, Shanghai, China. He mainly engaged in basic and clinical research of digestive diseases, especially hepatobiliary diseases.
Professor Lu is currently the vice Chairman of the Hepatology Society of Chinese Medical Association, Chairman of Shanghai Hepatology Society, Member of the Digestion Society of Chinese Medical Doctor Association, Member and Secretary of the Digestion Society of Shanghai Medical Doctor Association.
Professor Lu is the chief editor of 6 monographs. An associate editor or a member of the editorial board of 28 journals, and a peer-reviewer for several other major journals. His main research interests are in fatty liver prevention and treatment, and non-invasive diagnosis and clinical intervention of liver fibrosis, etc. He had published over 140 SCI papers, included Hepatology, J Hepatology, Cell Res, Clin Translat Gastroenterol, J Gastroenterol Hepatol and Hepatol Res, etc.

PROFESSOR WEI LAI
Received his M.D. degree from Xuzhou Medical College in 1983 and Ph.D degree from Beijing Medical University in 1996. Prof. Wei Lai is a Professor of Hepatology and Medicine and Director of the Hepatopancreatobiliary Center at Beijing Tsinghua Changgung Hospital, Tsinghua University, China. His current research interests involve NAFLD, hepatocellular carcinoma, and antiviral treatment of hepatitis B. Prof. Wei has served as the President of the Chinese Society of Hepatology (2012–2015) and aided to develop the Chinese Guidelines for the Management of Hepatitis B; Management, Diagnosis and Prevention of Hepatitis C Virus Infection; and Management and Diagnosis of NAFLD. In addition, Prof. Wei will be President of the Asian-Pacific Association for the Study of the Liver (APASL) in 2025 and contribute to the WHO and APASL hepatitis C guidelines.

PROFESSOR PAOLA LUCIANI
Paola Luciani is Full Professor of Pharmaceutical Technology at the University of Bern, Switzerland since 2019 and Director of Study of the Bachelor in Pharmaceutical Sciences since 2020.
Prof. Luciani is external Specialist for Pharmaceutical Quality in the Human and Veterinary Medicines Expert Committee of the Agency Council of Swissmedic, the Swiss Agency for Therapeutic Products and she was recently elected expert of the NANO (Nanomedicine) Working Group by the European Pharkacopoeia, EDQM. She is an invited member of: the Scientific Advisory Council of the Phospholipid Research Center, Heidelberg; the Steering Committee of the Stem Cell and Regenerative Medicine Platform (UniBern); the Sounding Board of the Multidisciplinary Center for Infectious Diseases (UniBern) among others, and member of the Controlled Release Society, Swiss Chemical Society and the Swiss Academy of Pharmaceutical Sciences. Prof. Luciani has been named Emerging Investigator 2017 by the Royal Society of Chemistry.
Prof. Luciani leads a research group in Pharmaceutical Technology and Drug Delivery working on the design and characterization of lipid-derived and bio-inspired drug delivery systems for the treatment and diagnosis of chronic multifactorial diseases, such as fibrosis, endometriosis and inflammatory diseases.

PROFESSOR LUBOMIR SKLADANY
Received his M.D. degree from Faculty of Medicine, Comenius University, Špitálska, Bratislava in 1988 and Ph.D degree from Slovak Medical University in Bratislava, Limbová, in 2002. Prof. Skladany is Head of 2nd Department of Internal Medicine with HEGITO Liver & Tansplant Unit at F.D. Roosevelt University Hospital in Banska Bystrica, Slovakia. He works as an Assistant Professor at the 2nd Department of Internal Medicine of Pavol Jozef Šafárik University (UPJŠ) Faculty of Medicine in Košice, and Slovak Medical University Bratislava, Slovakia. Prof. Skladany is one of the leading Slovak Hepatologists and Gastroenterologists, and is the Lead Hepatologist of the Transplant Centre. Prof. Skladany was heavily involved in launching the liver transplant program at F.D. Roosevelt University Hospital, Banska Bystrica, Slovakia. He is a member of major international professional associations, including the European Association for the Study of the Liver (EASL), and American Association for the Study of Liver Diseaes (AASLD). He is the founder of a specialized division of hepatology, gastroenterology and liver transplantation (HEGITO), which provides care for patients with the whole spectrum of liver diseases including before and after liver transplantation. He served as President of the Slovak Hepatological Society and is the member of the governing board of the Slovak Transplant Society.
PROFESSOR JOSE D. SOLLANO JR.
Graduated from the University of Santo Tomas, Philippines, and is now a Professor in the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery, specializing in gastroenterology and hepatology. In 1990, Prof. Sollano established the Inflammatory Bowel Disease Club of the Philippines and has since pioneered the study and understanding of IBD in the country. He has published peer-reviewed articles in the fields of his major professional interests, including IBD, gastroesophageal reflux disease, chronic hepatitis B and C, hepatocellular carcinoma and therapeutic endoscopy. He has also been involved in the development of various Asia-Pacific and National Clinical Practice Guidelines. Prof. Sollano is a Past President of the AsiaPacific Association for the Study of the Liver (APASL) and has also worked with several other organizations, including the Coalition to Eradicate Viral Hepatitis in the Asia Pacific (CEVHAP) in the Philippines, and is a member of the Chronic Hepatitis B Global Guidelines Task Force of the World Gastroenterology Organization (WGO).
DR. ANAMARIA COZMA-PETRUŢ
Is an Associate Professor in the Department of Bromatology, Hygiene and Nutrition of the Faculty of Pharmacy at the Iuliu Haţieganu University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Cluj-Napoca, Romania. In 2009, Dr. Cozma-Petruţ obtained her bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy from the Iuliu Haţieganu University of Medicine and Pharmacy. She also received a PhD in Medical Sciences, Pharmacy domain, in 2013, following four years of research on modulation of cow and goat milk fat composition conducted at the Iuliu Haţieganu University of Medicine and Pharmacy and the Institut national de recherche pour l’agriculture, l’alimentation et l’environnement (INRAE), Clermont-Ferrand/Theix, France. In 2013, Dr. Cozma-Petruţ obtained national certification as a Specialist Pharmacist in the specialty of pharmaceutical laboratory. Her teaching interests include food chemistry and hygiene, healthy foods, food supplements, nutrition in the lifecycle, precision nutrition, medical nutrition therapy, health promotion and therapeutic patient education. Her main research interests are in the fields of development of functional foods, one health approach, evaluation of dietary patterns among various population groups and assessment of the role of diet in the prevention and management of diseases (obesity, cancer, gastrointestinal and liver disorders).
